American Legion Post #20 | Health Equipment Loan Program

lovolkening@gmail.com - Lois Volkening, Commander
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veteran organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion services available online include Health, Education, and Benefit Centers, along with Troop and Family Support, Women Veteran Services, and USAA Financial Centers. The Legion has national, state, and district headquarters that govern local posts. Local Post 20 serves veterans and communities in Beaverhead County.
Anyone who served a day in the military and has an Honorable Discharge, may join the Legion. Our post dues are $34 annually, where $31.75 goes to National/State/District, and our post operates on the remaining $2.25 per member. Post 20 is very grateful for the community’s generous donations that allow us to continue to operate.
Your donations will help Post 20’s activities such as the Health Equipment Loan Program, the American Legion Memorial Park near Wisdom, providing the Honor Guard and Chaplain for veteran burials, the annual $600 scholarship to a graduating BHS senior, the Annual Community Veterans Day Breakfast, and the construction and installation of the Highway White Crosses Program fatality crosses that are placed along Beaverhead County roads.

The Be the Change 406 Coalition is a non-partisan, grassroots organization in Southwest Montana targeting the reduction of underage drinking and other substance use and misuse in Beaverhead County. We are a dedicated group of adult and youth activists working collaboratively to achieve these goals. We envision a future where area residents understand consequences of substance use and support our county being free of underage drinking and drug use.
Our youth coalition, made up of 6th-12th grade students in Beaverhead County is youth led, adult guided. We believe empowering our youth to use their voices is key to addressing prevention efforts in a way that is relevant to the issues facing them today. Youth members of the Be the Change 406 Youth Coalition are involved in media (PSA's, radio, print and social media), movie nights, participation in Red Ribbon Week, outdoor hikes, ice cream socials, and other community events.
The Be the Change 406 Coalition would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Drug Free Communities Project Coordinator, Brooke Hill. She can be reached at BTC406Coalition@gmail.com

We are focused on following Jesus daily and reaching out to people who are far from God with the life-giving mission of Jesus Christ. Because of this we have almost quadrupled in size as a local congregation since 2017. We currently help support around 6 global missions partners and 7 Local missions partners with a vision to expand those that we support aggressively to help missionaries spread the good news of Jesus all over our global and local world. This passion for the mission of Jesus is also driving us to prayerfully pursue planting several extension campuses in some of our surrounding rural areas soon. We are working with all the energy God gives us to this end! WayPoint Church is a collection of imperfect people who love God and are passionately pursuing a relationship with Him. We are delighted that you are here! And we invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when people have a singular purpose and are going after God together with passion.
